In most of the world these would be innocuous good wishes; in Karachi, they were fighting words. Other students objected to them, leading to a fist fight and the injury of two students. As this incident suggests, in some cultures Valentine's Day prompts controversy.
विश्व के अनेक क्षेत्रों में इस शुभकामना से कोई क्षति नहीं होती परन्तु कराची में यह शब्द झगड़ा करने वाला है। अन्य छात्रों द्वारा इस शुभ कामना पर आपत्ति करने से इनमें आपस में मारपीट हुई जिसमें दो छात्र घायल भी हो गये । इस घटना से परिलक्षित होता है कि कुछ संस्कृतियों में वैलन्टाइन दिवस के कारण विवाद उत्पन्न होता है ।
